Dr. Ute Samtleben


General Medicine
Languages: German, Italian, English, Spanish.

Conducted her university studies at Chieti, Verona and Milan, obtaining a Medical degree at the Università degli Studi in Milan and later a Specific Training diploma in General Medicine. She works as a General Practitioner under the National Health Service, and has acquired at least ten years of close working experience with the international community in Milan. She was nominated Doctor of choice for the Austrian and German Consul Generals in Milan. She is one of the founder members of Milan Starter, a non-profit organization of professionals who offer their individual know-how to aid the integration of foreigners living in Milan. In 2006, together with her husband Ercole Montefusco, she founded Milan Medical Center.

Dr. Cristian Pellegrini


General Medicine
Languages: Italian, English, French.

Holds a Medical degree from the Università degli Studi in Milan, where he obtained a Specific Training diploma in General Medicine. He has worked at both San Paolo Hospital and San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, conducted home-based diagnostic services for the Italian Diagnostic Center, worked for AVIS (Italian Blood Donors Association) in Milan as well as two Sports Medicine centers. He currently works in the Emergency Department at San Carlo Borromeo Hospital in Milan, and has his own GP practice in Casorate Primo, Pavia. He also lectures for the College of General Practitioners in Milan.

Dr. Giovanna Fontana


Pediatrics
Languages: Italian, English, German, French, Spanish.

Holds a Medical degree and a further specialization in Pediatrics from the Università degli Studi in Milan. She has worked at the De Marchi Pediatric University Clinic and was also involved in the MISPHO (Monza International School of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology) program at the Teaching Center of San Gerardo Hospital in Monza. She collaborates with various private institutes and also Casa Circondariale San Vittore in Milan.

Dr. Stefania Paesani


Pediatrics
Languages: Italian, English, French, Spanish.

After obtaining a Medical degree from the Università degli Studi in Bologna, she has worked for 12 years in the United States, where she specialized in Pediatrics. She has worked for Yale and Boston University Hospitals and Carbondale Memorial Hospital – Illinois. She has been Associate Professor in Pediatrics at Southern Illinois University. In 1996 she obtained a first diploma from the American Board of Pediatrics. Recertification in Pediatrics was obtained in 2002. From 1998 to 2000 she has worked as a Pediatrician for the Pediatric Cardiosurgery department of Hesperia hospital in Modena. From 2006 to 2008 she has attended a 2-year course in Integrated Biological Medicine from the Italian Homotoxicology Association. From 2000 she works as a Community Pediatrician of the International School of Milan.

Dr. Stefania Panazza


Gynecology and Obstetrics
Languages: Italian, English, French.

Holds a Medical degree from the Università degli Studi in Milan, with a further specialization in Gynecology and Obstetrics from the Luigi Mangiagalli University Clinic in Milan, where she still conducts consultation services. She has practised as a gynecologist and obstetrician at the Casa di Cura Madonnina in Milan as well as in private practice. She also collaborated for three years with the University of Berkeley (California) in epidemiological studies on endometriosis. She has acquired many years of experience working with foreign national patients, and has provided antenatal, perinatal and postnatal care to many of them. She has published articles in numerous international scientific journals, including the British Medical Journal.

Dr. Evelyn Falconi Klein


Allergology, Dermatology
Languages: German, English, Italian.

Holds a Medical degree from the University of Heidelberg, with a further specialization in Dermatology and Venereal Diseases, and one in Allergology from Germany. She has worked at the pediatric Dermatology University Clinic of Milan Policlinico for three years and has 15 years experience working both for the National Health Service and as a private practitioner. She also works as clinical researcher in the field of cosmetology research.

Dr. Sabine Pabisch


Dermatology
Languages: Italian, German, English, French.

Holds a Medical degree from the University of Innsbruck, with a further specialization in Dermatology and Venereal Diseases from the Dermatology Clinic of the Policlinico Hospital, Università degli Studi in Milan. She has practised as a dermatologist in both public and private health sectors for twenty years, and is also involved in dermatological surgery and laser therapy.

Dr. Paola Molteni


Gastroenterology
Languages: Italian, English.

Holds a Medical degree from the Università degli Studi in Milan, with a further specialization in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology from the same institution. She has operated for many years as a Consultant in the Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy surgical unit at the University Clinic of L. Sacco Hospital. Particular areas of interest, over and above digestive Endoscopy, include the study and treatment of chronic intestinal inflammatory disease and functional diseases of the digestive system. She is the author of chapters in scientific books and co-author of publications in international journals.

Dr. Emanuela Raimondo


Orthopaedics and Traumatology
Languages: Italian, French, English.

Holds a Medical degree and a further specialization in Orthopaedics and Traumatology from the Università degli Studi in Milan. She has worked for Henri Mondor Hospital in Créteil-Paris. She works for San Paolo Hospital in Milan as an Orthopaedic/Traumatology surgeon. She is the chief of the Outpatient Service for the Treatment of Bone Metabolism disturbances, mainly involved in the treatment of osteoporosis. She is involved in many research projects in Orthopaedics and Traumatology. She also lectures as a contract professor for Università degli Studi di Milano.

Dr. Etienne Philippe


Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation
Languages: French, Italian, English, Spanish.

Holds a degree in Physiotherapy from the Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele in Milano and a specialization master in manual therapy from Università di Genova in cooperation with Bruxelles University. He has worked for Centro Diagnostico Italiano and now runs his own Associate Physiotherapy practice dealing with orthopaedic and neurological problems, from evolutive to degenerative problems. He develops personalized rehabilitative programs, based on the patient’s response and everyday needs.

Dr. Robert Stubinski


Urology
Languages: English, Italian, German, French.

Holds a Medical degree from the University of Genoa and carried out an experimental thesis at the University of Pittsburgh, USA. He completed his specialization in Urology (once more at Genoa University), and also has the license to practise as a Urologist in the United States, having passed the United States Medical Licensing Examination. Since 2004 he has been a Registrar in the University Division of Urology at San Donato Milanese Hospital. He collaborates as a consultant for various private hospitals and clinics in the Milan area and in Switzerland. He also lectures (as a contract professor) at the Università degli Studi in Milan.

Dr. Maurizio Di Cicco


Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT)
Languages: Italian, English.

Holds a Medical degree from the Università degli Studi in Naples and specialized as an ENT at Università degli Studi in Milan. He as worked as an ENT for over 20 years in the Alfieri and Monteggia Units of the Maggiore Policlinico Hospital in Milan - Cà Granda. He conducts ENT operations in University clinics and in private clinics, concentrating principally on naso-sinus endoscopic surgery, pediatric ENT surgery and nasal surgery. He has been involved in numerous research projects in the field of ENT medicine, with particular focus on Pediatric ENT medicine, Rhinology and the complications of Cystic Fibrosis. He is actively involved in congresses, both in Italy and overseas, and is the author of numerous publications in Italian and international scientific journals.

Dr. Ercole Montefusco


Dentistry, Orthodontics
Languages: Italian, English.

Holds a Medical degree from the University of Chieti, and specialized in Dentistry and Orthodontics at the Università degli Studi in Milan. He has practised for over 20 years with both Italian patients and foreign national patients from the international community of Milan. He is a member of both the Italian Society of Orthodontics and the Italian National Association of Dentists. In 2006, together with his wife Ute Samtleben, he established the Milan Medical Center, of which he is now Health Director.

Dr. Jutta Beltz


Psychiatry and Psychotherapy
Languages: German, Italian, English.

Conducted her university studies at Bonn and Mainz, and later specialized in Psychiatry at the Università degli Studi in Milano. She also underwent a further specialization in psychoanalytical psychotherapy. After a research period in psychosis, she has worked for 15 years in a Psychiatry department and Rehabilitation center. Particular areas of interest are the treatment of anxiety and depressive disorders, eating disorders, somatic symptom disorders and integration of foreign women.

Dr. Anne Bourgaux


Counseling and psychological support
Languages: French, German, Italian, English.

Holds a PhD in Psychological techniques for services to the individual and the community. A Belgian, born in Sweden, before transferring to Italy in 2002 she lived in eleven countries across Europe and Africa. She studied Clinical Psychology in Belgium and underwent training in Germany in Systemic therapy for the couple and the family, as well as the Milton Erickson clinical hypnosis method. In addition to running her own private practice, she has worked as a psychologist in neuropaediatrics (Belgium), in the personnel department of a mine (Guinea), and in a Psychotherapy Center for traumatized refugees (Germany). In Italy she created a psychology consultation center for family members, carers and volunteers who have elderly people in their care.

Dr. Armanda Frassinetti


Dietetics
Languages: Italian, English, French.

Holds a Dietetics degree from Chieti University, and has accumulated years of clinical experience from her work at Vittore Buzzi Hospital in Milan, where she is actively involved in the subject of nutrition in pregnancy as well as in educational and training projects linked to prevention and research. She also conducts nutritional consultations for individuals, groups and communities, within public and private healthcare sectors. She acts as a consultant to the Policlinico Hospital Nephrology Department's pre-dialysis unit in Milan, the Milan Local Health Unit's Hygiene, Food and Nutritional service, and the Milan branch of AVIS (Italian Blood Donors Association). She is the dietician of choice for the United States Consul General in Milan. She has been a member of the National Association of Dieticians since its inception.

Four new doctors in our staff - 30.11.2011

This year the Medical Center has celebrated its 6th birthday. Our center is now well known among the expat population of Milan. The kind of assistance offered to our patients has made leaps forward. We have invested in the most modern technology but first and foremost our medical staff has gone from strength to strength and in just a last few months four more doctors have joined us: Stefania Paesani (pediatrics), Emanuela Raimondo (orthopaedics and traumatology), Jutta Beltz (psychiatry and psychotherapy) and Etienne Philippe (physiotherapy). Welcome aboard !

Ultrasound-assisted physical examination – 1.05.2011

Now Milan Medical Center offers an echography service on site. A brand new ultrasound machine is available for abdominal/thyroid scans and Ob/Gyn/urology scans. The center offers a modern approach to the patient visit: the Ultrasound-assisted physical examination, through which the General Practitioner is able to provide an immediate response to specific clinical issues.

A new shine to your teeth - 01.06.2010

After having tested a number of different treatment modalities, in May 2010 Milan Medical Center introduced a new halogen lamp teeth-whitening treatment. The treatment involves a single 30 minute sitting at the Center plus a kit to continue the treatment at home.
